Title: Perceiving and Interacting with Artificial Agents: Exploring Brain, Behaviour and Cognitive Foundations

Location:
B02.015
Großhaderner Str. 2

Host: GSN LMU Maj-Catherine Botheroyd-Hobohm/Dian Anggraini
Host Email: botheroyd@bio.lmu.de
Abstract:
Understanding how we perceive and interact with others is a core challenge of social cognition research. This challenge is poised to intensify in importance as the ubiquity of artificial intelligence and the presence of humanoid robots in society grows. This workshop will explore how social and cognitive neuroscience research approaches can help illuminate the human side of human-robot interactions
More about Emily Cross: Dr.Emily Cross is the Head of Social Brain in Action (SoBA) lab at the School of Psychology Bangor University, UK. Through her work at SoBA lab, she explores the experiential factors that shape the human brain and behavior when learning new actions or watching others in action. Using intensive training interventions and research paradigms involving dance, acrobatics and robots, she is particularly interested in questions concerning observational learning throughout the lifespan, motor expertise, aesthetics, and how people’s expectations shape human-robot interactions. This workshop is ONLY for registered participants.
