Abstract:
Upper limb prosthesis users have disruptions to eye-hand coordination, with increased visual fixations towards the hand and less visual allocation for feedforward planning. Advanced upper limb prostheses aim to restore coordinated hand and arm function. However, this objective can be difficult to quantify as coordinated movements require an intact visuomotor system. Combined eye tracking and motion capture are technologies used to measure eye movements and upper limb kinematics, respectively. This talk will introduce the use of these technologies and explore its applications in studying the visuomotor behaviours of upper limb prosthesis users.
