False memories in the DRM paradigm are thought to arise when a lure is semantically close to the studied items. We test this directly with 7T multi-echo fMRI and RSA, using a German DRM variant with three lure levels (critical, middle, low) to look for a graded semantic similarity structure in the temporal pole, extending Chadwick et al. (2016). We additionally compare the neural representational geometry against word embedding models. Data collection (N=44) runs until October 2026.
