Abstract:
CAS-Workshop: "Lateralized Attention in the Brain: Top-down versus Bottom-up Biases in Human Search Behavior"
Organizer: Thomas Töllner (LMU Munich) The past decade has seen a surge in event-related lateralization (ERL) studies on visual selective attention − the ability to filter a limited amount of behaviorally relevant information out from the plethora of task-irrelevant perceptual inputs that travels down the optic nerve. This gain is associated, in part, with the contralateral organization of the human visual system, which makes the event-related potential technique highly suitable for isolating attention-related visual activity. The overarching goal of this workshop is to foster the dialogue between a selected group of leading experts in the field who provided inspiring new insights into the neural mechanisms of visual search and selective attention. SPEAKERS: Steven Luck, Clayton Hickey, Veronica Mazza, Thomas Töllner, Iris Wiegand, and others ...
